Alport's Syndrome( --> Nephritis, Hereditary)
Balanitis - Inflammation
of the glans penis.
Berger's Disease ( -->
Glomerulonephritis) -
It is the disorder commonly known
as nephritis, or Bright's disease. Typically, it appears as an
acute illness one to two weeks after a sore throat, or--less commonly--after a
persistent streptococcal infection of the skin. The affected person has
puffiness of the face and ankles and at the same time scanty and noticeably
blood-stained urine.
Bladder Diseases
Bladder Exstrophy
Bladder Neoplasms
Bright's Disease - Also called GLOMERULONEPHRITIS, OR NEPHRITIS, inflammation of the
structures in the kidney that produce urine.
Cystitis, Interstitial
- Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder, usually caused by bacteria. The
term is also often used to denote infection of the urinary tract, a common
illness in females.
Enuresis -
Elimination disorder characterized by four factors: the repeated voluntary or
involuntary voiding of urine during the day or night into bedding or clothing;
two or more occurrences per month for a child between the ages of five and six
(one or more for older children); chronological age of at least five, mental age
of at least four; and the absence of a causative physical disorder. Enuresis may
additionally be classified as primary (when urinary continence has never been
achieved), secondary (when continence was achieved for at least one year and
then lost), nocturnal (occurring only during sleep), or diurnal (occurring
during waking hours). The most prevalent form is nocturnal enuresis (also called
bed-wetting and usually of the primary type), and the disorder occurs more often
among boys than girls.
Epididymitis
Glomerulonephritis - It is the disorder commonly known as nephritis, or Bright's
disease.Typically, it appears as an acute illness one to two
weeks after a sore throat, or--less commonly--after a persistent streptococcal
infection of the skin. The affected person has puffiness of the face and ankles
and at the same time scanty and noticeably blood-stained urine.
Goodpasture Syndrome
- A different example is provided by Goodpasture's syndrome, a disorder in which
autoantibodies form against the basement membrane of the blood vessels in the
kidney glomeruli and in the air sacs of the lung. These antibodies cause severe
kidney damage and lung hemorrhage.
Hematospermia
Hematuria - Presence of blood in the urine, an indication
of injury or disease of the kidney or some other structure of the urinary tract.
In males blood in the urine can also come from the reproductive tract.
Hemolytic- Uremic Syndrome
Hydronephrosis -
Blockage
or constriction of the excretory ducts, causing urine to be dammed up in the
kidneys.
Hypospadias -
A congenital condition in males in which the opening of the urethra is on the
underside of the penis.
IgA Nephropathy -
Also called GLOMERULONEPHRITIS, OR NEPHRITIS, inflammation of the
structures in the kidney that produce urine. In acute glomerulonephritis there
are severe inflammation, renal insufficiency, swelling, increased blood pressure
(hypertension), and severe back pain.
Impotence - In
general, the inability of a man to achieve or maintain penile erection and hence
the inability to participate fully in sexual intercourse. In its broadest sense
the term impotence refers to the inability to become sexually aroused; in this
sense it can apply to women as well as to men.
Infertility (Male
Genital Diseases) - Infertility is defined as the failure to conceive after one year of regular
intercourse without contraception.
Kidney Calculi
Kidney Diseases
Kidney Failure, Acute
- Also called RENAL FAILURE,
partial or complete loss of kidney function. It results in
reduced output of urine, abnormally high levels of nitrogenous substances,
potassium, sulfates, and phosphates in the blood, and abnormally low blood
levels of sodium, calcium, and carbon dioxide.
Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney
- A common type of kidney malformation in
newborns in which cysts of varying size enlarge one or both kidneys. Though not
necessarily fatal, the condition causes a decrease in the amount of functional
kidney tissue, which creates a tendency toward infection.
Nephritis, Hereditary
- Inflammation of the kidneys. It is rare in the newborn. In one
well-known type--congenital nephrosis--large amounts of protein are lost in the
urine, with consequent development of severe, generalized edema.
Nephrosis, Nephrotic Syndrome
- Group of signs of kidney malfunction, including
a low level of albumin (a protein) and a high level of lipids (fats) in the
blood, proteins in the urine, and the accumulation of fluid in the tissues. It
may result from streptococcal infection, lupus erythematosus, or heavy-metal
poisoning.
Peyronie's Disease (Penile Induration)
- A condition in which a fibrous region forms in the erectile tissue of the penis,
causing pain and curvature during erection.
Phimosis - A congenital narrowing of the opening of the foreskin so that it cannot be
retracted.
Priapism -
A persistent, painful erection of the penis unaccompanied by sexual excitation or
desire. The major symptom of priapism is pain and tenderness in the enlarged
portions. There may be a short period during the onset when pleasurable
sensations are felt, but this quickly gives way to constant pain.
Prostatic Diseases -Any of the abnormalities and diseases that afflict the prostate gland in the
male reproductive system.
Pyelonephritis -
Infection and inflammation of the kidney tissue and the renal pelvis. The infection is usually bacterial. The most common type
of renal disorder, pyelonephritis may be chronic or acute.
Spermatic Cord Torsion
Testicular Diseases
(Testicular Feminization) - A condition produced in genetically male people by
the failure of tissue to respond to male sex hormones, resulting in normal
female anatomy but with testes in place of ovaries.
Urethral Stricture - A common cause of urethral stricture was gonorrhea, in which inflammation of the
urethra is followed by scarring and stricture.
Urinary Tract Infections
- Infections of the urinary tract are more frequent during pregnancy, and women
who have acute infections of the bladder and kidneys while pregnant have a
higher incidence of premature labour.
Urination Disorders
Varicocele - Enlargement of the veins of the spermatic cord or formation of
antibodies to sperm by the male or the female.
Vesico-Ureteral Reflux
- Flow of urine from the bladder back into the ureters, arising from defective
valves and causing a high risk of kidney infection.
