CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Youth Congress members on Tuesday staged here a demonstration protesting against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s ‘India shining’ propaganda.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president G K Vasan, who addressed the demonstration organised by Youth Congress president M K Vishnu Prasad, said, ‘‘When unemployment, poverty and corruption were on the rise in the last five years, the Bharatiya Janata Party is making a false propaganda – ‘India shining’ – by wasting public money.’’

Pointing out that the Bharatiya Janata Party had failed to keep its promise to create one crore jobs every year, Vasan said its misgovernance and wrong economic policies had only led to an increase in closure of factories, declining of industrial and agricultural growth that resulted in spurt in crimes and also law and order problems.

‘‘The BJP will not succeed in its attempt to create an illusion in the minds of the people that its government has made achievements on all fronts,’’ the TNCC president said.

He also criticised the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) for ruling the state against the interests of people from all walks of life.
