Do we
live through the elements or do they live through us?
All energy that surrounds us comes from the elements through
us and back again We are all one...this is life.
~Mysti
Mother earth... rain, sun, wind and water. Most are used to
hearing earth, sky, fire and water. In this article I am using
the rain, the sun, the wind and the moon, which are all parts
of the elements. All one within Mother Earth and our Universe.
The sound of the rain on the roof lulled me to a peaceful
slumber, the relaxing rhythm soothing the once frenzied day.
As
it cleanses Mother Earth, washing away the dust from her
plants
and trees I feel the coolness of the moisture in the air.
I am amazed at how the weather can change our moods. When the
morning is dark, dreary and rainy, I could sleep away the day,
cozy in my warm, comfortable bed. I seem to drag a bit more
and getting anything started is an effort.
On sunny days, I open the windows and breathe in the fresh,
new day. I get started on things that have been waiting for my
attention. I whistle a happy tune and manage things with more
ease.
When the wind blows, I see the trees bending to its power and
hear its song as it flows around its limbs. We can't
physically
see it, but we feel it just the same. Even when we think its
not
there, it usually is. How magical!*
Oh, I love rainy days too, but recently we have had so many in
a
row. I noticed others around me feeling that draggy, sleepy
feeling too. I begged for the sun to come out, just one day so
I
could get caught up.
When I saw no sun in sight, I gave myself a bit of a pep talk
and
put on some good, energetic music. I turned on more lights and
pushed myself to get some work done. Even just vacuuming was a
slow chore, with the dark corners in the house, even the
vacuum wanted to take a nap.
Why is it that the sun picks us up and the rain seems to slow
us
down and take us to a pondering place? I love the rain and its
melodic rhythm. Everything is lush and green.
I also know how the rain can damage things when there is too
much, causing flooding and destruction. Water can have a
mighty force behind it and like all elements it needs to be
admired and reverenced.
Even the sun can harm, just watch me turn beet red and get
very
sick after being out in it too long.
The wind... as so many have seen recently with tornadoes and
hurricanes, can change lives in an instant. But how wonderful
she feels as she tickles our skin on a warm, windy spring day.
Ahhh, but for me, my happy medium and what I am so attracted
to is the Moon. The moon cannot cause me sunburn and to be wet
and cold or even mess up my hair, hehe. I have long admired
the moon and felt its pull of energy on my soul.
The nighttime is an altogether different mood, when I can
listen
to the frogs singing and feel the breeze through the trees.
Even
in winter on a bitter cold night when the moon is full, the
energy abounds. The moon casts its light and brings magic to
everything it touches.
Oh yes, there are those that love the rain and how it seems to
slow us down and others worship the sun and moon and how the
wind whispers magically to them. I love them all, as they tell
me stories of long ago.
Take time to notice how the elements around us make you feel.
Are they trying to tell you something? Pay attention and think
on
things, even putting them into words on paper.
They are as ancient as Mother Earth herself and have been here
from the beginning of time. How blessed we are to have the
rain, the sun, the moon and the wind. They are always letting
us know they are part of us and sometimes they will get our
attention in ways that make us notice that they are not just
there to be talked about, but to be shared with.
So, even when its raining and I wish it was sunny or the wind
is
blowing when I wish for calmness, I have learned to deal with
it,
just as we all have and sometimes, just sometimes, I may
really
ask Mother earth and Father sky for a perfect day just for
me...but who knows what that might be today, or tomorrow. Blue
skies a bit of wind maybe even a small shower with a rainbow.
I
just know that all the elements help us to learn and be
patient... so I am very blessed.~
